So for this weeks task, we were to find a childhood advertisement and alter it to have a different message. I’m not going to lie… I struggled a lot with this one. Firstly the original ads I were after I couldn’t find but I also couldn’t find any ways I could substantially alter the film to create a different message. However, in the end, as all things go, I finished my video.
Now… a little background. So, as a child I had this strange fear of the inner health plus cartoon, only when it came on the TV of course but I just found him super creepy. I was a strange kid. Anyways, because of this flashback to young Taryn and her unexplainable dislike for the inner health plus character, I made him creepy. Well… I tried to.
I cut the footage, slowed it down, and repeated it. I added scary/creepy music in the background to convey that this cartoon is creepy. I kept it light hearted at the end with a clip from ‘The Office’ screaming “NOOO”, cause that’s how I felt.
